1. Heart Failure:

Heart failure does not mean that  heart has stopped working, rather it means that  heart works less efficiently than normal. Due to some causes the blood moves through the heart and then body at a slower rate by increasing the pressure in the heart. As a result, the heart cannot pump enough oxygen and nutrients to the body parts as per the needs and requirements.

The chambers of the heart may respond by stretching to hold more blood to pump through the body or by becoming stiff and thickened. This helps to keep the blood moving, but the heart muscle walls may eventually  get weaken and become unable to pump as efficiently. As a result, the kidneys causes the body to retain fluid (water) and salt. If fluid builds up in the arms, legs, ankles, feet, lungs, or other organs, the body becomes congested, and congestive heart failure is the term used to describe the condition.

2. Hypertension:

Hypertension ,commonly called as high blood pressure, which can also be a major medical  review. Hypertension does not usually show any symptoms, and even not diagnosed in the early stages. It is one of the important cause of heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, and other serious medical problems.

As it  is so common and consequential, it is important for everyone to have their blood pressure checked periodically.  The  blood pressure that is higher than the desirable range, but not high enough to be labelled hypertension which would be 120/80mmhg given as Prehypertension.

4.Cardiac Diseases:

Heart disease outlines various conditions which can be affected to the heart . Diseases under the heart include blood vessel diseases, such as coronary artery disease; heart defects you're born with (congenital heart defects), among others.

The term "heart disease" is often used interchangeably with the term "cardiovascular disease." Cardiovascular disease generally refers to conditions involving the  blocked, narrowed blood vessels that leads  to a heart attack, stroke & chest pain (angina). Other heart conditions, such as those that affect your heart's muscle also are considered as the heart diseases.

19. Cardiomyopathy:

Cardiomyopathy refers to diseases of the heart muscle. These diseases have several causes, signs and symptoms additionally as treatments. In most cases, heart disease causes the guts muscle to become enlarged, thick or rigid. In rare instances, pathological cardiac muscle tissue is replaced with connective tissue.

As cardiomyopathy worsens, the heart becomes weaker. The heart becomes less ready to pump blood throughout the body and incapable of maintaining a standard electrical rhythm. The result may be cardiopathy or irregular heartbeats known as arrhythmias. A weakened heart can also cause different complications, like heart valve issues.

The main types of cardiomyopathy are:

  • Dilated cardiomyopathy
  • Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
  • Restrictive cardiomyopathy
  • Arrhythmogenic right ventricular dysplasia
  • Transthyretin amyloid cardiomyopathy (ATTR-CM)

Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), long one of the nation's most serious medical problems, contributes to approximately 250,000 deaths each year. About 2% of the total population has CHF, and it accounts for about $20 billion annually in health-care expenses. In the United States alone, heart failure accounts for 6.5 million days of hospitalization annually. The mean length of hospital stay for a CHF-related admission is approximately 14 days.

World Heart Failure 2019 is expected to grow nearly from $23.8 billion (2016) to roughly $55.1 billion (2021) with an annual growth rate (CAGR) of 18.3% for the period of 2016-2021.

World Heart Failure 2019 deals exclusively with cardiac diseases. It can be very surprising for the public and also medical fraternity that deviates the formation of heart leads to the common congenital malformations. However, now a days the public and private hospitals are ready for the catering of adult coronary heart diseases, being very justifiable and sometimes borders to lucrative economic equations.

Why Italy:

The Congestive Heart Failure Conference 2019 research in Italy has a strong focus on rapid implementation of the newest MRI technology into clinical practice.  Our research aims to develop novel imaging methods to improve diagnosis and treatment of Congenital heart disease. The main areas of research are:

·      Morphological assessment of the heart and great vessels

·      Post processing of 3D MRI datasets

·      Functional assessment of the heart  can be done using dual-phase 3D MRI, 2D phase and 4D phase Contrast

        flow imaging by CMR.

·      Determination of pulmonary vascular resistance by MR guided cardiac catheterization

·      XMR for cardiovascular interventions in congenital heart disease

Rapid advances in the field of MRI have developed this modality to the extent that it can now be used to guide interventions such as MRI – Cardiac Catheterization Technology (XMR).

The important goal of heart-failure therapy is to inhibit the progression of congestive heart failure through pharmacological, device-based therapies. Therefore, there have been efforts to develop device-based therapies aimed at improving cardiac reserve and optimizing pump function to meet metabolic requirements. The course of congestive heart failure is often worsened by other conditions, including new-onset arrhythmias, ischemia and infarction, valvulopathy, decompensation, end-organ damage, and therapeutic refractoriness, that have an impact on outcomes. The onset of such conditions is sometimes heralded by subtle pathophysiologic changes, and the timely identification of these changes may promote the use of preventive measures. Consequently, device-based methods could in the future have an important role in the timely identification of the subtle pathophysiologic changes associated with congestive heart failure.
